This month’s profile is on Jill Duncan, a speech-language pathologist and DOR at Warrenton Health & Rehab in Warrenton, GA. She has been with the Integra team for 1 and a half years.

Jill has been married to her husband, Ronnie, for 14 years.  He is the Associate Pastor of Sisters Baptist Church in Sandersville.  She has three children, Morgan, Noah, and Lily.  Jill loves spending time with her family, riding horses, and working with the teenagers at her church.  She is currently working on a family scrapbooking project and enjoys reading Karen Kingsbury books.

Jill says the best part of her job is watching patients who cannot safetly tolerate oral feeding begin to receive an oral diet.  Also, patients who are not able to communicate to start communicating verbally or with an augmentative alternative communication (AAC) device.  It is great to see a smile on your patient's face and their family's faces also.  The highlight of her career has been a patient who was not able to communicate with her voice to family and friends for many years is now using an AAC device that "acts as her voice" to communicate.

Her greatest challenge has been accepting the fact that there are patients that will reach a plateau and not progress.  As far as what keeps her going, “Knowing that no matter what happens in life God is in control and I can trust in Him.”
