Aural Rehabilitation
Integra Rehabilitation strives to enhance each hearing impaired individual’s quality of life through its Aural Rehabilitation Program. Our Speech-Language Pathologists may assist the hearing impaired person in attaining full potential by using personal resources and therapy techniques/strategies to overcome challenges resulting from the hearing loss. The Speech-Language Pathologist may coordinate the rehabilitative process by working with an audiologist or other professional(s) or act as an advocate for the hearing impaired individual.
Goals
To demonstrate compensatory strategies for increased functional communication skills
To enhance auditory listening skills
To increase knowledge and proficiency in caring for and use of an assistive listening device/hearing aid
To improve ability to compensate for the hearing impairment and to communicate successfully in the individual’s environment
